Summer Solstice- Gratitude for an Open Heart
I returned from eastern Oregon early this morning and I am committed to allowing the beauty that I feel in my heart to continue. Returning to our seemingly busy lives after spending the better part of a week in ceremony is a opportunity to begin to assess what is truly important. When we step outside of our routine we have a chance to look at not only what we do but how we do it. If the expansive open hearted feeling that I returned with is important to me, then I will allow it to continue. Doing so begins with trusting that it is not only possible, it is our natural state of being. The purpose of the ceremony was to invite a new way of interacting with the world. We were invited to become co-creators, to be active participants in this change process.
We are living in a time that is rich with possibility and at the same time, we may find ourselves drawn deeply into negative mind states. These states feed on fear and keep us off balance. It will take a lot of hearts and minds uniting their intention toward a shift that I believe, is on the verge of happening. We must begin with ourselves and make a determined effort to walk with our hearts open and invite others to join us.
The ceremony began last week on Wednesday evening with a reading of the Akashic records with Ann Coughlin taking peoples questions. Thursday we prepared for a fire and water ceremony which I facilitated. The experience was sweet for me as it's been some time since I have held this space.
Friday, there were a number of talking circles leading up to the 2nd fire and water ceremony and these were conducted beautifully by Eve Costello and Michael Hoffman. We built a medicine wheel and Eve and Ann facilitated four ceremonies on Saturday each one marking a season. All of this was done in a way that protected the integrity of the space while inviting people to open their hearts.
Our hearts job beyond facilitating circulation is to guide our creative expression and I feel that when enough people step inside of this experience then the world will be transformed. My intention is to begin offering more opportunities for members of this group to engage in activities that lend themselves to this. I hope you will join with me in share your heart and creativity.
